Stay in Vienna and 7th leg Vienna-Budel
December 7, 2024
The hotel in Vienna, called Motto, looked from outside impressive but what we did not know was that it appeared to be a “do-it-yourself” or “no-service-hotel” with heavy doors [Fort Knox?] served by complicated electric systems to open them.
What was good in the hotel was their restaurant on the top floor where we had our first Wiener Schnitzel. It was very delicious indeed.
We did not meet anyone who knew who was Joseph Roth, one of my favourite writers. Our time was short so we finally gave preference to The Spanische Hof Reitschule, dating back to 1572!!
On the same day we met Nina Schnelzer of Luvema, who was so kind to come all the way from Dobersberg to meet us in Vienna. Our all in Vienna was basically intended to have this meeting after she managed to get me out of a difficult position with insurers AXA, created by an unreliable and tricky French insurance broker. So we celebrated her/our victory with a nice lunch.
Thanks once again Nina!
Unfortunately Sophie discovered on a small solo walk a jeweler with extreemely nice earrings. No need to write down the result?
Vienna has very impressive and nice buildings, most ot them of very long ago (300-500 years of age), very well maintained.
4 dec was our flight from Vienna to Budel.
In Budel we got a lot of attention from KAM, to resolve an update problem of Jeppesen/ForeFlight software. Thank you, Ward Bokken and your collegue!
3 hours after our arrival we, resp. Sophie, could start to drive to Amsterdam, but that took the same time as our flight from Vienna.
We were welcomed by Annette and Basta and we took a glass on the 15 days trip.
