WINSOME update

October 1, 2010

Dear all,

The Sevenstar Round Britain and Ireland Race was a challenging race with difficult conditions ranging from evading potentially boat breaking low depression coming in from the west coast of Ireland at the start of the race to nerve racking lulls along the course. Conditions were testing for crew and boat for two weeks. Navigating the race sounds easy, just keep the UK on your left hand side, however the race switches frequently between inshore and offshore tactics, making it hard to formulate a winning strategy. All credits to Harry and his crew as WINSOME won the race in her class, making it possible for the director of Sevenstar, who was onboard, to come home again and show his face in the office. Rumour has it they will now sponsor Cowes Week?

WINSOME is now enjoying a well deserved rest at the Berthon Boatyard in Lymington. She is being taken care by the same boatyard who built her (besides Royal Huisman) in 1972. Work is well underway, progress is being made. She will be ready in time for the upcoming season. Already plans are being made for 2011. Harry will scout the globe in November in his quest for the search for another challenging race. Will we be looking for our Easter eggs in Cowes in 2011, round Eddystone in May as a practice run for the next Rolex Fastnet Race (only 317 days to go!)?

As soon as there is more news, you will be updated!

Kind regards,

Joost
